Season 4 is set more than a year on since the end of season 3. Fergus has turned 18 and has been accepted onto Harry’s old course at Trinity. However, he has made the decision to take a gap year but instead of travelling, Fergus wants to concentrate on the detective agency and make money while the making is good.
Plus it means he and girlfriend Lola can attend college at the same time but Lola receives some news that is going to upset that plan. In the meantime, Harry, who is not happy about Fergus’ decision, is determined to teach him to drive, which does not go according to plan.
The agency is going from strength to strength and the cases keep coming. The series opener starts with a very unexpected client: Charlie Wild. Charlie has a serial killer on his hands who kills with no discernible pattern, making them near to impossible to catch. It goes against his every instinct but he’s desperate and asks his mother and Fergus to consult. He is adamant that they must not investigate under any circumstances but when has Harry ever done what she’s told?
Elsewhere, Harry is hired by a friend from her past, a former wild child, who is now a nun. Harry meets Harry Benedict’s father when one of his race horses is sabotaged. Orla and Lola stumble upon a mystery in a dance school. There’s a big surprise in store for Harry and Fergus at a true crime convention. A literary tour of Dublin turns bloody when someone starts killing the customers in the style of great works of Irish literature. And a wedding in an Irish castle turns to tragedy for one of our recurring characters.
On top of all this, Charlie’s father, Marcello, makes one of his once-in-a-decade visits but this time he has faked his death because he’s on the run from an Italian gangster and brings a whole lot of trouble to Harry’s door.
Season 4 is bigger, better and bolder than ever before.
